Anacortes Arts and Crafts Festival
The first weekend of each August, the Anacortes Arts and Crafts Festival is the event in town. More than 50,000 people are attracted to the festival each year.

Artists are juried each spring. Craftsfolk from far and wide set up their booths on downtown streets. Entertainment and art displays are non-stop for two full days.

The festival, which has endured for over thirty-five years, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of volunteer organizations. Click here for more information.

Anacortes Celebrates its Maritime Heritage
Anacortes is a waterfront town with a seafaring tradition and as such wouldn't be complete without a festival celebrating its maritime heritage. So every May, this island-based city holds the Anacortes Waterfront Festival and Boat Show.

Co-sponsored by the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Anacortes, the Waterfront Festival is held every year in May. It's free and open to the public. Located at the Port of Anacortes' Cap Sante Boat Haven, the Festival includes displays and events of interest to all ages.

Nautical types enjoy the walkaboard boats afloat display. Also, a model ship regatta sets sail in the Boat Basin.

Landlubbers' activities include a farmers' market, an open air seafood market, local artisans, fish printing, knot tying, paper boat building, and a poster contest.

Anacortes Farmer's Market
The Anacortes Farmers Market is a Saturday tradition in the summertime in Anacortes. Each year, the market opens on the date of the Anacortes Waterfront Festival and ends on the second Saturday of October. It is open from 9am to 2pm, rain or shine. Click here for more information.

Skagit Valley Area Tulip Festival
The blooming of the fields is celebrated each year during the Tulip Festival, a two-week long event. Fireworks, sailing regattas, food fairs, kayak races, street fairs, 10K runs, bike rides through the tulips, arts and crafts-all packed into two weeks of fun and color. Click here for more information.

While enjoying this part of the Skagit Valley, you won't want to miss the charming town of La Conner, once a sleepy seaside fishing village on the Swinomish Channel. Quaint as old New England, it serves as an art, antique and dining destination.
